2025년 6월, 미국 하와이주에 위치한 Waiakea High School(와이아케아 고등학교)와 OKIS(오사카 금강인터내셔널스쿨) 간의

국제교류 프로그램이 본교에서 진행되었습니다. 이번 교류는 전 과정이 영어로 진행되어, 학생들은 언어뿐만 아니라 서로의 문화를 이해하고

적극적으로 소통하는 글로벌한 경험을 할 수 있는 뜻깊은 하루가 되었습니다.

개회식에서는 윤유숙 교장선생님이 영어로 환영 인사를 전하시며, 미래 세대 청소년들이 국경을 넘어 교류하고 성장하는 것의 중요성을 강조하셨습니다.

문화교류 무대에서는 양교 학생들이 멋진 공연을 선보였습니다.

• Waiakea High School 학생들은 하와이 전통 춤인 훌라댄스를 우아하게 선보이며 남국의 정취를 물씬 풍겼습니다.

• OKIS 학생들은
  　・댄스부의 에너지 넘치는 댄스 퍼포먼스
  　・사물놀이부의 역동적인 전통 타악기 연주
  　・태권도부의 힘찬 시범
  으로 한국 문화를 소개하며 OKIS의 다양한 매력을 전달했습니다.

또한, OKIS 1학년 학생들은 인기 드라마 ‘오징어 게임’의 세계관을 응용한 오리지널 액티비티를 기획했습니다.

규칙 설명부터 게임 운영까지 모두 영어로! 학생들은 웃음과 환호 속에서 함께 즐기며 더욱 가까워졌습니다.

행사 후에는 OKIS 2학년 학생들이 호스트가 되어 Waiakea High School 학생들과 함께 오사카 시내 투어를 진행했습니다.

일본의 역사, 문화, 음식 등을 체험하며 한층 더 깊은 교류의 시간을 가졌습니다.

언어를 넘어 마음이 통하는 국제교류——
이번 교류는 참가한 모든 학생들에게 평생 잊지 못할 소중한 추억이 되었습니다.

In June 2025, an international exchange program was held between Waiakea High School in Hawaii and OKIS (Osaka Kongō International School) in Japan.
The entire program was conducted in English, giving students a valuable opportunity to deepen cultural understanding and engage in meaningful global communication.

The event began with a warm welcome speech delivered in English by Principal Yoon Yoo-sook, who emphasized the importance of young people building friendships and learning beyond borders.

The cultural exchange performances were a highlight of the day.

• Students from Waiakea High School presented a graceful hula dance, offering a taste of Hawaiian tradition.

• OKIS students showcased their talents through:
  　・a high-energy dance performance by the Dance Club
  　・a dynamic Samulnori (traditional Korean percussion) performance
  　・a powerful Taekwondo demonstration

In addition, OKIS first-year students created a fun and original activity inspired by the hit Korean drama Squid Game. The entire session—from instructions to gameplay—was carried out in English, filling the room with laughter and excitement as students bonded through play.

After the event, OKIS 11th graders served as local guides, taking the Waiakea students on a tour of Osaka. Through visits to cultural sites and local landmarks, the students deepened their friendships while experiencing the charm of the city.

This international exchange proved that communication goes beyond language—it’s about heart-to-heart connection. It was a day full of learning, joy, and memories that will last a lifetime for everyone involved.
